RANCHO CORDOVA – Assemblyman Ken Cooley (D-Rancho Cordova) honored three teams from two local schools for bringing home national awards at prestigious annual science competitions on Monday June 22nd. Two of the award winning teams are from Mira Loma High School (Arden-Arcade), and the third is from Winston Churchill Middle School (Carmichael).
“What a great honor to recognize the hard work and dedication these students put in to achieve these significant awards,” said Cooley. “Their emergent knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and math may lead them to become the professional scientist who resolves some of our most challenging problems, such as a cure for a cancer or an engineering design that can propel us to Mars or beyond,” Cooley continued. “An extra nod to Mira Loma’s science teacher and coach, James Hill who has lead the high school team to the national competition 17 times, more than any other coach in the United States.”
