Eppies gives almost a $1-million in donations | News

SACRAMENTO, CA - Area residents with disabilities received a large donation through the proceeds of the 2010 Eppie's Great Race.

Eppie Johnson, founder of Eppie's Great Race presented a check in the amount of $20,000 County Board of Supervisors Tuesday.

So far, the Race has raised almost $1 million for the Sacramento County Therapeutic Recreation Services.

TRS provides individual and group support to area residents with mental, physical, developmental and emotional impairments.

The 2011 Eppie's Great Race is schedule for July 23. The 38th annual race includes a 5.82-mile run, a 12.5-mile cycle, and a 6.35-mile paddle boat.

Kids will also have their US Bank Duathlon which includes a 2-mile run and a 5.75-mile bike ride.
