Car knocks out power pole, electricity in Rancho Cordova | News

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA - A driver hit a power pole in the area of Sunrise Park and Sunrise Boulevard Wednesday morning, knocking out power and causing traffic delays.

The crash also knocked out signal lights in the area, causing northbound drivers to be diverted from Sunrise Blvd. north of White Rock Road.

No information was provided on the driver's condition, or what caused them to crash into the pole.

According to SMUD, the outage occurred at 8:51 a.m. and power was not expected to be restored until 11:30 a.m. Approximately 1,478 people were affected by the outage.
