The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary will soon be ablaze with holiday lights, providing a beautiful backdrop for a unique family experience this holiday season.  Wild Nights & Holiday Lights kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7 and continues from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 8-9 and Dec.

Historic Folsom's annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony takes place Friday evening from 6 - 9 p.m. rain or shine!  News 10's Melissa Crowley will emcee the event on Historic Sutter Street in the plaza at the ice skating rink.

See Folsom High School's award-winning Jazz Choir, take a free horse-drawn wagon ride, enjoy a spin around the ice skating rink and visit with Santa. 

Support News 10's Coats for Kids drive by dropping off coats at the ice skating rink ticket booth.

Children's Museum in Rancho Cordova Plans Fun, Healthy Eating Day Activities

 

In order to show how much fun eating healthy can be, the Sacramento Children's Museum will be hosting "Happy Heart, Healthy Eating Day" Saturday, Dec. 1, at their location in Rancho Cordova from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Activities will include a cooking demonstration by chefs from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School, a Happy Yogis exercise session, a music and movement class, and more.

Admission is free, and all the museum's exhibits and activities will be available to participants.

Folsom Zoo: Thanksgiving Feast for the Animals

Watch the special Folsom Zoo Sanctuary animals devour their festive Thanksgiving meals (including pumpkin pie) during the annual Thanksgiving Feast for the Animals, 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22.

This time each year, men all over the United States and around the world are using Movember as a very valid excuse to celebrate and grow glorious mustaches. They’re known affectionately as Mo Bros, and it’s all for a good cause of course; to raise funds for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. A cause particularly close to my heart, as my father is a prostate cancer survivor.
