Sacramento Museums Celebrate Spring  With Music, Parties & Even a Promenade in March!

In addition to its fascinating Gold Rush past, the Sacramento area is rich with an amazing array of state-of-the-art museums and historic sites that offer visitors the chance to explore California’s fine art, history, science, and wildlife treasures all year long.  In March, many of the 30 members of Sacramento Association of Museums (SAM) are kicking off springtime with fun activities filled with music, parties and even a promenade, a sampling of which follows:

Pop-Up Music Month at the Sacramento Children’s Museum - March 1-31
Join the Sacramento Children’s Museum all month to explore musical instruments and special activities such as fun Music & Movement dancing on Fridays, interactive Sing-A-Long Saturdays and more!  Museum visitors will also have the hands-on opportunity to craft a musical instrument in the Art Studio all month long.  For more, visit www.sackids.org or call 916-638-7225.

The Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District presents an “Eggciting” Easter adventure for the entire family. Please join us for a FREE egg hunt for children 0-13 years old! We have a *$10 wristband for unlimited carnival games and inflatables, one (1) choo-choo ride, and one (1) face painting. Adults don’t get left out of the fun, purchase your $3 admission ticket for the Fair Oaks Youth Advisory Board’s “Adult Egg Hunt” for a chance to hunt around for gift cards and prizes!

Hop on over to the McMillan Center and purchase entry into the morning breakfast presented by the Fair Oaks Host Lions Club. Tickets for the breakfast are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children and can only be purchased from the Fair Oaks Host Lions Club in the McMillan Center.

Sacramento Regional Science & Engineering Fair

Join News10 and Sac & Co as we celebrate The Annual Sacramento Regional Science & Engineering Fair on March 9th! Hundreds of creative students from throughout the Sacramento region will compete in the Fair at Rosemont High School in Sacramento.

Each year, the Sacramento Regional Science & Engineering Fair produces winners that go on to shine on the international stage.  In 2012, our Grand Prize winner placed first in Energy and Transportation at the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair, which draws more than 1,600 students from 59 countries.
