Rosemont school remembers murdered student | Education

ROSEMONT, CA -- Fri., March 9 is Jessica's Day at Albert Einstein Middle School.
Jessica Funk-Haslam, 13, was murdered earlier this week. Her body was found inside a dugout in Rosemont Community Park Tuesday morning. The park is directly behind Albert Einstein Middle School were Funk-Haslam was in the 8th grade.
The school is flying the Sacramento City Unified School District's flag at half-staff. Students are leading a number activities Friday in Funk-Haslam's honor, including creating a time capsule with items that remind the students of Jessica.
School district officials say counselors are on-hand to speak to students and there is an increased police presence around the school while the murder investigation continues.
