Volunteers of America - Wishes All a Happy Thanksgiving and a Heartfelt Thank You! | Community
Let's Talk Turkey!
Donate a turkey to a family in need today.
Last year, the walk-in freezers at Volunteers of America’s Central Kitchen were crowded with more than 675 birds donated during our annual turkey drive. Today, with 10 short days until Thanksgiving, just a very lonely quartet of frozen turkeys await Volunteers of America clients celebrating their very real desire to give thanks.
Donations of fresh and frozen turkeys for our homeless and low-income clients will be accepted from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at our Central Kitchen, 700 North Fifth Street, Sacramento; and at the Mather Community Campus kitchen, 3587 Bleckely Street, Mather.
Please drop-off all donations by November 24th.

About Volunteers of America
Founded in 1896 by social reformers, Maud and Ballington Booth, Volunteers of America is a national, faith-based nonprofit whose mission is to: “REACH AND UPLIFT” all people.
Our goals are to end homelessness, support the most vulnerable, and transform communities into safer, healthier places. When Volunteers of America’s Sacramento office opened in 1911, its staff and volunteers focused on those very tenets providing food, clothing and spiritual support to the area’s poor and homeless.
Now, expanding our services…Volunteers of America now are providers of human services, emergency shelter, transitional and affordable housing, substance abuse treatment, job training…independent living skills…
