Volunteers Needed To Create Ribbons For Kids Campaign
April was designated as National Child Abuse Prevention Month 30 years ago, a time to focus on creating more caring communites for children.Shortly after that period program volunteers began using blue ribbons to support their battle cry-calling all to action who will assist in preventing the abuse and neglect of our most innocent and vulnerable citizens.
Army Of Angels, an international coalition of child advocates who contribute their time and talent year long to strengthen society for children and families will be distributing these symbols of solidarity by the thousands throughout the month of April and are asking for anyone who has some time on their hands to help create blue ribbons for this purpose. Volunteers need simply use royal blue ribbon to create a loop,hot glue the fold over tab then place a safety pin on the back.
The ribbons will be distributed at National Child Abuse Prevention Month opening ceremonies in Sacramento-kicking off the 50 state campaign March 29th,30th and 31st,by Kross Kountry-4-Kids A Journey-4-Justice team members who travel in the Caravan Of Hope which spends two weeks mobilizing America from sea to shining sea (Sacramento to Washington DC and back March 31st-April 14th)and at rallies in all 50 states.
According to campaign organizers young people are also very good at making blue ribbons citing scouts and church youth groups as some of the larger contibuters.For more information or to participate call 916-259-4396.
